For the hiphil imperative 2ms, wouldn't the translation be "you cause to save me"? Hiphil is causative active, and your translation including "be" appears to be passive. Similarly for the other hiphil verb, I would think its translation would be "as you caused to strike."

ReplyDeleteA tough nuance to translate with these verbs, but you are right. Both forms are active not passive. I need to get better at conveying that difference. Thanks for watching and keeping me honest.
