I was intrigued when I saw "בַּל" as a negative in your post. I don't know that I've seen that before; it's usually al or lo for the negative, or sometimes 'eyn as also appears in this verse.
ReplyDeleteI wondered what the difference is between בַּל and the other negatives, so I checked HALOT and it says this word is "mostly in poetical texts, often repeated several times in a short passage." One of the main occurrences it mentions is Psalm 10:4-18, so I'm guessing you'll be seeing it more in the coming weeks.
