Psalm 7:11

מָגִנִּי עַל־אֱלֹהִים מֹושִׁיעַ יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב׃

Rough Word-by-word:
[The] shield of me upon God. He causes to save the upright of heart.

Smooth Translation:
My shield is on God. He saves the upright of heart.

מָגִנִּי noun common singular in construct with 1cs pronominal suffix "[the] shield of me"

עַל־אֱלֹהִים preposition with noun mp "upon God"

מֹושִׁיעַ Hiphil participle ms from יָשַׁע (he saved) "he causes to save"

יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב adjective mp in construct with noun ms "[the] straight (or upright) of heart" (question: Why the plural of יָשַׁר ?)

  1. My guess on the plural would be that God saves the ones (plural) who are upright of heart. But that's just my guess.

  2. Katie,
I had not thought of that.
    A plural substantive makes sense.
    Thanks,
